About Your Trip
Get ready for adventure in Western Australia as you traverse desert, city and seaside landscapes. Pass through a countryside of pristine beaches, towering cliffs and laid-back towns — at every stop, you’ll have a chance to discover the truly unique characteristics of each.
Your journey begins with a visit to Kings Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world covering 990 acres (400 hectares). Then, discover the flavors of Australian wines at Sandalford Winery. Its doors are open and ready for you to walk in and start enjoying the bounty of their fields. You’ll savor delicious cuisine paired with specially selected wines at the winery’s multi-award-winning restaurant before you continue to Caversham Wildlife Park for the chance to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s strange and unusual wildlife.
The next day, you’ll take to the water during a safari cruise — be sure to keep an eye out for dolphins and other wildlife! Back on land, you’ll visit the historic port city of Fremantle. Explore Round House — the oldest public building in Western Australia — and the Fishing Boat Harbour, where you can stroll by the water and check out statues representing the daily work of past fishermen. Before the day is over, visit the legendary Cappuccino Strip, home to trendy cafes, pubs, galleries, boutiques and more.
Then it’s onto one of Western Australia’s best-kept secrets — the pinnacles! Starting in Perth, you’ll head up the coastline to marvel at these fascinating spires in Nambung National Park. Along the way, enjoy the scenery as you pass through Joondalup city and the countryside. Walk the park’s trail to the lookout and view the thousands of limestone, pillar-like structures known as the pinnacles. You’ll learn all about this desert park, including native wildlife and plants, at the interpretive Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre. After a stop for a fabulous lobster lunch, you’ll go sandboarding at Lancelin Sand Dunes, which features some of the largest dunes in the country.
Your last full-day tour brings you to Rottnest Island, teeming with vibrant marine life and friendly faces. Coastal tide pools and blue-green bays on the island offer ideal spots for swimming, snorkeling and diving. You’ll spend time exploring the diverse flora, fauna and culture of Australia’s most idyllic travel destination.
Back in Perth, why not spend your day of leisure exploring the city at your own pace? You can marvel at the historic Swan Bells, take in Perth Museum and Art Gallery or try your luck at the casino at Crown Perth.
What we love:
• The pinnacles at Nambung National Park are said to be approximately 25,000 years old and formed by shell deposits from receding sea water.
• Get your fill of sunshine in Perth — it’s the sunniest capital in the world, averaging about 8 hours of sunshine every day.
• Similar in style to snowboarding, sandboarding is ideal for adrenaline seekers.
