Discover the Old Wonders of Dubai
Set off on a journey through Dubai’s Old Town, featuring a ride on a traditional boat, a stop at a stunning mosque & much more.
About Your Trip
Dubai continually mesmerizes with its striking skyline of world record-holding structures, and golden-sand deserts and shorelines that stretch for miles. On this DreamTrip, you’ll take to the streets during a full-day tour of Old Town — widely considered the heart of the city. Beginning in the Al Bastakiya neighborhood, marvel at some of the city’s oldest buildings from the early 19th century. Then, you’ll make your way to Dubai Museum within Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest building in Dubai (built in the late 18th century), where you can examine historic exhibits and learn more about Dubai’s culture. Your journey continues with a ride on an abra, or traditional water-taxi, where you’ll cruise Dubai Creek before checking out Dubai Gold and Spice Souks that are filled with herbs and gold jewelry. End your day taking in the beautiful Jumeirah Mosque, Dubai’s most photographed mosque.
In your leisure time, why not visit The Dubai Mall — the world’s biggest shopping mall — next to your hotel? Afterward, you can head over to the Dubai Fountain and watch the impressive water-fountain show. Want to see more? Shaped like the billowing sail of an Arabian dhow, Burj Al Arab is only 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) from your hotel. As the world’s third-tallest hotel, it rises 1,053 feet (321 meters) above sea level.
What we love:
• Dubai’s gold and spice souks are known for extremely cheap gold, but you may have to haggle for it.
• The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed water-fountain system.
• Al Bastakiya was founded by Persian merchants who were drawn to the area by its inexpensive tariffs.
